History of Assaults
Since the beginning of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.
This most recent event follows other notable incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a explosive concealed on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant earlier linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never publicly admitted as a matter of official stance.
The conflict has been marked by covert operations extending into the center of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be underway.
