I beheld evil as assailant sought to break into synagogue, rabbi describes
A rabbi has shared the occasion when a person attempted to barge into his city Jewish temple during a lethal attack, remarking "I saw malevolence, I saw hate".
The cleric stated that he and fellow worshippers held the gateways of Heaton Park synagogue as the assailant was "body-charging the gateways, hurling large flower containers, trying anything he could to get in".
Commending the quick-thinking of those at the temple, he stated: "I saw true bravery, I must admit, and worshippers who hurried to aid fellow members rather than fleeing. It was amazing."
Adrian Daulby, 53, and A 66-year-old man, both died after the individual struck people and stabbed a individual on that day.

The national leader and witnesses have praised rabbi Walker and the protection staff as "courageous people" for their deeds.
When inquired if he saw himself as a hero, he answered: "I doubt that is correct".
Nevertheless, a bystander at the location said the rabbi had stayed serene during as he and additional individuals guided the gathering to safety.
The family of the victim has also expressed admiration to their "brave individual" who died during "the act of bravery to save others".
