The carrier is introducing free high-speed in-flight connectivity via satellite partnership
Passengers aboard this carrier can soon enjoy fast connectivity in the air free of charge following a recent deal involving SpaceX's communications company.
Complimentary and Quick Connectivity for All
British Airways revealed that the free, “fast and dependable” connectivity provision through Starlink is set to be accessible for customers in coach, premium economy, or premium cabins from the coming month.
Expanded Deployment Throughout Several Carriers
The holding organization of the airline, IAG, stated it had finalized an deal involving SpaceX for providing internet services across more than 500 aircraft across the group's airlines, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
Smooth Internet from Gate through Arrival
BA stated that the rollout of the technology formed part of a multi-billion pound “upgrade” initiative and would offer uninterrupted wifi service for flyers from boarding through landing, including when traveling across seas or far-off locations.
Passengers will be able to connect multiple devices and do not require a separate password.
“Gamechanging for British Airways and our customers, enhancing onboard service onboard on BA through providing them continuous connectivity throughout the flight.”
Current Wifi Options
Restricted internet service is currently available for BA passengers across most of the airline's aircraft using the .air service.
Participants of BA’s frequent flyer program can transmit messages plus plain-text emails during flights free of charge, whereas passengers who want to access audio, films, or movies throughout their flight who are not travelling in premium cabins may be charged between four pounds ninety-nine and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine per connectivity package.

Recently, British Airways announced a jump in operating profits during the first half recently, helping to push IAG’s results higher.

Other SpaceX Agreements
British Airways’ announcement comes shortly after telecom operator another UK company revealed it was teaming up with the satellite provider to enhance cellular service in the countryside in Britain, by allowing users to seamlessly hook up mobile devices using satellites if there is no standard network coverage exists.
