The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content about PlayStation for the first time. 2025 was complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.
The Current Inclusions
The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th β and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine β Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around β which makes them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
